Unboxing

The FlexiSpot E7 arrives in multiple heavy boxes, all well-protected and wrapped in far more packaging than necessary. Inside, every component is tightly secured, yet my 120x60cm chipboard desktop still came out with visible scratches and light scuff marks straight from the factory. It’s a safe delivery, but not a premium-feeling one — and the amount of plastic and foam waste is noticeable.

First Impressions

Laid out on the floor, the components look functional but lighter than expected for a desk in this weight class. The desktop has a laminate join positioned directly down the centre, which immediately stands out and affects the overall aesthetic. Luckily i have my desk setup against the wall so i could hide it by placing that edge on the non visible side of my setup.

What I Didn’t Like About the FlexiSpot E7

Packaging & Initial Condition: When the FlexiSpot E7 arrived, I was excited yet cautious. The packaging, while protective, seemed excessive and generated more waste than I anticipated.

It also looked as if the boxes had been put through the ringer, which is not surprising considering they were shipped internationally to my location in Australia.

International shipping these days is usually pretty reliable (thanks Temu I think?), Flexispot doesn’t have any customer service teams in Australia so if you’re anxious of making online purchases at the best of times, this may be something to consider.

Desktop Surface Imperfections: Straight out of the box, I noticed multiple scratches and marks on the desk’s surface. These imperfections were noticeable and detracted significantly from the desk’s initial appeal and perceived quality.

Laminate Join in the Middle: Another thing that bugged me was the laminate join on the desktop was positioned awkwardly in the middle rather than at the corner (or at least made to be less noticable). It was distracting and definitely affected the overall desk’s aesthetics. Like i said, i was lucky as i could spin the desktop around to face the wall, but you might not be so lucky for your setup if your desk position is different.
